TOURNAMENT HISTORY

The ESBC event is owned by the European ESBC Committee, which is formed by National ESBC Committees, established in many European countries. The National ESBC Committees adopts individual members as of 50 years of age. The first edition of the ESBC was conducted in 1992 in La Rochelle, France with 56 women and 107 men, in total 163 participants, taking part. Since, the ESBC has been conducted every year and now has more than 1,000 participants competing. The athletes of the ESBC are Singles, Doubles Masters and Trios. The Singles Discipline has been open for both Men and Women in the A and the B Groups from 1992 and from the C Groups from 1993.The Doubles Discipline has been open for both Men and Women in the A and the B Groups from 1992 and from the C Groups from 1993. The Masters Discipline has been open for both Men and Women in all three groups from 1992. In the Trios Discipline the age groups are combined. It was seen for the first time in 1993 as a Mixed Trios for both genders and as of 1994 as a Women’s Trios and a Men’s Trios.
